Composing equipment
Use spare + equipment or + stones to improve an item and keep its progress between compositions.

7 short steps01
Choose the item to keep
Visit WuxingOven in the Market. Put the equipment you want to improve in the main slot and one compatible + item or + stone in the material slot. Both items must be in your inventory. Broken equipment must be repaired before it can be used.
The main item is kept; the material is consumed. Check the selected items, resulting + value and progress preview before confirming. Weapons, shields, headgear, armour, necklaces, bags, rings, bracelets and boots are eligible equipment; garments, arrows and ordinary loot are not composition targets.
02
Match the material
A + stone works with any eligible main item. Equipment materials must belong to a compatible group; their item level and quality do not have to equal the main item's.
One-handed physical weapons can use other one-handed physical weapons. Backswords only match backswords. Bows only match bows; other two-handed physical weapons can use each other. Shields match shields.
Headgear and armour must match the main item's own equipment family. Necklaces match necklaces, bags match bags, rings match rings, heavy rings match heavy rings, bracelets match bracelets, and boots match boots. A shared equipment slot alone does not make two items compatible.
03
Material point values
Materials from +1 to +8 are accepted. Each contributes points according to its + value: +1 gives 10; +2 gives 40; +3 gives 120; +4 gives 360; +5 gives 1,080; +6 gives 3,240; +7 gives 9,720; +8 gives 29,160.
Only the material's + value contributes. Any saved partial composition progress on that material does not transfer and is lost when the material is consumed. Choose your material carefully if it already has valuable progress.
04
Points needed for each upgrade
Each step spends points from the main item: +0 to +1 needs 20; +1 to +2 needs 20; +2 to +3 needs 80; +3 to +4 needs 240; +4 to +5 needs 720; +5 to +6 needs 2,160.
+6 to +7 needs 6,480; +7 to +8 needs 19,440; +8 to +9 needs 58,320. Once your character is level 130, +9 to +10 needs 2,700; +10 to +11 needs 5,500; +11 to +12 needs 9,000.
Your main item's existing points are added to the new material's contribution. Enough points can advance it through more than one + level in a single composition; any remaining points stay on the main item unless it reaches the final +12 limit.
05
A simple example
An uncomposed +0 item with no saved points needs 20 points for +1. One +1 material adds 10 points without raising the bonus. A second compatible +1 material supplies the remaining 10, producing +1 with no points left over.
You do not need three items with matching + values. For example, a +2 material supplies 40 points: enough to take a +0 main item with no saved points through both the 20-point +1 step and the 20-point +2 step.
06
Your character's level limit
Below character level 130, composition stops at +9. Every excess point from the composition that reaches +9 is saved on the main item. You cannot add another material to that item while your character remains below level 130.
At character level 130 and above, the next composition can spend those saved points towards +10, +11 and +12. Levelling up alone does not change the item. Existing equipment is not downgraded if its bonus is above your character's current composition limit.
+12 is the final limit. When composition reaches +12, any excess points are discarded and its saved progress becomes zero.
07
What the bonus improves
Composition adds fixed stat amounts for the equipment and its + level. It is not a universal percentage increase to the item's base stats. The exact amounts depend on the item and bonus level; check its bonus lines when comparing equipment.
One-handed physical weapons and non-bow two-handed weapons gain physical attack and accuracy; bows gain physical attack. Backswords and bracelets gain magic attack. Bracelets do not gain magic defence from composition.
Helmets, archer hats, coronets, headbands, plumes and shields gain physical defence. Taoist caps and earrings gain magic defence. Class armour gains physical and magic defence.
Necklaces gain HP and physical defence; bags gain HP and magic defence. Rings and heavy rings gain physical attack; boots gain dodge. Composition magic defence is a fixed amount, separate from an item's percentage magic resistance.
